The WA Department of Training and Employment commissioned a study to identify the market segments for computer literacy training in WA and the factors most likely to motivate its uptake. The report proposes a four level model of computer literacy (awareness, functional ability, online applications, and social/ethical issues), develops benchmark measures, identifies market segments and suggests a number of targeted strategies.

CTAP is funded by the California Department of Education (CDE) to promote effective use of technology in teaching, learning, and overall school administration. CTAP is a regional technical assistance program that provides coordination and services in education technology based upon local needs in each of the eleven regions in California. Industry Canada's Francommunautes virtuelles program aims to promote the active participation of Canada's French-speaking communities in the information and communications technologies. In its capacity both as a practical guide and a source of information, the Swedish Schoolnet enables teachers to integrate ICT (Information and Communication Technology) into a practical classroom setting. However, the Schoolnet is much more than an Internet guide. It is a portal for schools, by schools, about schools. The Group Training in the Trades Programme (GTTP) assists eligible Participants to undertake an Australian Apprenticeship in the trades by providing opportunities by either: providing Participants with pre-vocational training in the trades in order to gain the required pre-requisites to articulate into an Australian Apprenticeship in the trades; or allowing students to undertake an Australian School-Based Apprenticeship in the trades whilst still at school undertaking their year 11 and 12 higher school certificate.

This paper reports on the Swedish ICT Commission's 1999 hearing on the theme of 'Communication to all - at all times', the overriding purpose of which was to disseminate, discuss, elucidate and strengthen the vision of a new IT infrastructure formulated by the ICT Commission?s Observatory for IT Infrastructure Issues. The Minerva Action seeks to promote European co-operation in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Open and Distance Learning (ODL) in education. Finland's national virtual school project aims to promote network teaching and studying in basic education, at the upper secondary school level, in basic and further vocational education, and in liberal education. Students at a virtual school can take their qualifications and courses as distance learning. The virtual school also enables educational institutions to cooperage more efficiently in the area of network training, and helps to promote the use of ICT in support for contact education at all schools.
